There is apparently still to be no hunting at the Cypress Creek preserve in Pasco County in Florida because some people are concerned about the potential safety issues associated with hunting with a compound bow or rifle in the area. The governing body which would control whether hunting would be allowed in the area had determined that there simply wasn't enough proof that hunting in the area could ever be made safe and so the ruling body decided to proactively deny the request that the area be opened up for bow hunting which garnered the praise of several local commissioners.

For the first time the country of Australia will host the International Waterski and Wakeboarding Federation World Cup and the international community will be bringing their water skis and wakeboard towers to the area of Mandurah as the site of the competition during March 2012. There will also be a series of land based games that will be running at the same time called the Action Sports Games that will run around the same time as the water based competition. There have already been over thirty competitions around the world in the last several decades.
